For those who live around Cambridge will be well aware of the antics of the anti car, parking regulation Gestapo that are resident in the offices of power.
Latest scheme is to charge at the Beehive centre, free for 1st 2 hours, 2-4 hours £4, over 4 hours £10. FFS.
If you could be bothered, this was one of the last places you could park for free, within a 15-20 min walk of thge city centre. Now it would be impossible to spend a few hours in Cambridge, without coughing up a fortune to do so.
Now I don't condone vandalism, buut there must be some other person/s who are just as pissed off as me, as yesterday, at the said Beehive centre, the barrier mechanism had literally been ripped out, and was lying on the floor with its guts spilled.
I could'nt help but have a smirk.

I'm sick of the parking in Cambridge. Went to the cinema on Saturday and the parking cost more than a cinema ticket (which has also gone up in price ) FFS! Why can't we get an out-of town megaplex with free parking like just about every other city in the country has?

Grafton centre parking is a rip off for anything up to 3 hours, which is £2.80. But want to stay for four hours because you're doing some shopping before going to the cinema? £5.50 please! OUCH! This was made worse because the girlfriend paid £5.40 and didn't check before pressing the button so we only got three hours for £5.40. ARRGHH!

Stop whingeing! A day's parking in Soho is £34.50! And the meters are £1.00 for ten minutes. Sounds like you chaps in Cambridge are getting a bargain!

Nah, shouldn't have said that... and you'll never know what I said.
