On a 996 (and others presumably), the doors automatically lock when driving off.

Is there any way of having the system programmed so that when you turn off the ignition/remove the key at your destination that the doors are automatically unlocked?

On my 997 the auto-lock feature is dealer switchable. The doors then unlock with first pull of the inner door handle, and open on the second.

Same on the 996, but I find it annoying having to pull the door handle twice everytime I want to get out (and it always confuses passengers).

One of the first things I had disabled on my 996.2 GT3. OPC or indie with a Durametric - it takes less than 5 minutes.

I'm ok with the auto lock (although I could probably live without it), I just wish it would auto unlock at the other end of the journey.

No auto unlock I'm afraid.

If you think about why it exists (perceived safety in cities) it wouldn't really make sense to have an auto unlock feature, as the whole point is to only unlock at the point you're literally getting out of the car i.e. when you pull the handle.

....at the point you're literally getting out of the car i.e. when you pull the handle, or a split second after you've stopped the engine/taken the key out.
