Hearing from a friend of a friend that his 430 Spider will be arriving this summer, nearly a year earlier than expected.... I'm beginning to wonder how long the waiting list really is as i'm sure people have doubled up on their orders in the hope of driving coupe for 9 mths, selling for a profit and then taking delivery of Spider . Any thoughts?

Indeed. Afterall, the only knowledge we have of a 'waiting' list is from the dealers themselves, the forebearers of news from Ferrari if you will.

Intriguing...

Im Personally Sick and tired of the Ferrari "Tactics"
This is gonna get me shot but I dont care!

I think Ferrari have lost their way since making the 355 to a certain extent exterior wise. The cars are not as stunning as they think and I feel Lamborghini has made a massive stride is supplying a decent day to day supercar way ahead of the the 430.
I know - who am I to judge and I will get murdered for saying this but I am sick of the arrogance of Ferrari and the lack of customer service.
I have grown up aiming to aspire to Ferrari and now I am in the position to purchase, am very disappointed rearding the poor lack at attention from the company. Therefore I have purhcased elsewhere a rival - Pics to follow :
I think the 612 is damn ugly, the 575 is still overpriced and the 550 is not worth changing the 3200 Gt for.(In my humble opinion)
As for the 360 - thats personal opinion(the 360 did nothing for me ) again especially the stradale (yes I have driven / owned the above)
The 430 appears to be a great Ferrari and is the new attempt to compete with Lamborghini but doesnt the Gallardo supply a similar drive and performance for a good secondhand price already ? Plus you do not have to wait for "x" amount of time for delivery.

Im feel very let down by ferrari by the poor customer service and at this price I expect a decent level of service.

Fact.......Ferrari are very arrogant.things were very different in the early 90s when the 348 was about....you would be treated like a royal...

430 waiting list.......people put down deposits, letters of intent etc........once the premiums dissapear the waiting list will shrink dramatically....my advice wait 6 or 7 months and see what happens.

Very true, I remember when I was ordering my new shape SL and looked at a Gallardo, the actual delivery times were far quicker than those stated at time of order/enquiry. Fact is most people spending a lot on a car want their own spec. Very few people who buy these cars are happy to pay £20k over to be the second owner of a car not quite with the right spec. I'II be amazed if 430 coupe premiums are anything special by the autumn.

I dont think Ferrari have ever been good on customer service, especially 20 years or so ago when there was not as much competition.

Things have moved on a lot now. Not only are they competing with Lambo (who are only now really competing in the same market Gallardo v 360 / 430) but also with other cars which have similar performance such as the big Mercs and BMW's

Unfortunately their herritage is so strong that they can afford to trade off their reputation and image as there will always be plenty of people who want a Ferrari simply because its a Ferrari irrespective of whether another car in the same sector is better.

Perhaps being shodily treated adds to its character?

Well my customer service from Graypaul has been exceptional, by far the best I've ever expierianced from any marque.

Waiting time when I had my 360 was 2 years and there was no premium market for them at that time.

But you'll always have the impatient to drive the price up. Good advice to wait, I agree.
Even Porsche seem desperate. New models due for early release etc. Same with Ferrari.
Prices will drop further & quicker than they have ever done. First time out of a marque for me for 10 years. Just not the right time to own for the moment when you look at what's happening within the market IMO.

Yeah... i've been at the Boat Show today... it took just 15mins to queue up to have a look around the two biggest Sunseekers...

The Princess, Broom etc stands were virtually empty. Amazing!

hi, i am new to the site but have been reading the posts for a little while now. anyway ill cut to the chase, i am currently searching for a reasonable priced 430 for delivery sometime before or by the summer 05 and have been quoted 30-35 k over list for a coupe and 25k over list for a spider which i think is totally ridiculous and i am not paying. i had a 360 last year which i loved but had to get rid of due to the impraticallity of it in the bad weather and chopped it in for a 911 turbo.i want to get another ferrari march - april 05 and am wondering whether to buy a 360 CS and then wait to see what happens with the 430 premium by the autumn and was wondering if anyone has had one and will it be practicall for me to drive the 5 miles to and 5 miles from work every day (does milage knock a lot off these cars compared to a regular 360) also if anyone knows of any 430`s going for less then the quoted above? let me know what you think !!!

if you are prepared to pick it up in russia and can pay in US$, I'm sure you could have one in any colour pretty much anytime.... might have issues with warranty without a chassis or engine number though!

I'm sure that'd do your engine no good what-so-ever (I'm speaking in general car terms here, I do not know enough specific to a 360CS) but it is not the value of mileage that will be your killer - it will be that the car would 10 times a week get turned on, not warm up, and then get turned off again (not just the engine - everything, brakes, diffs, gearbox etc).
Perhaps what would be more fruitful would be to buy yourself a small car for the journey to work (something like a smart car)and leave the 360CS in the garage !?

[sorry for thread hijack there!]
