Thanks for that, looks a good read, I'll read that later when time allows.

Must be cheaper to buy a cup car though?

Thanks for posting that up. The pictures were nice to look at and it was interesting to see something on a 996.

The article made me want to punch my own face though.
I would have argued that the lazy, non-researched tosh that was the article perhaps did a disservice to the car/owner; setting it up so that anyone who has been around Porsche factory race cars would immediately face palm themselves to death wasnt going to end well tbh.
However the owner had some wing uprights custom machined with big old RSR logos in them to run on a car that is a street GT3 with a bodykit and some basic track day mods so its hard to feel too sorry there.

Most of the GT3's owned by people on here that I have had the pleasure of seeing in person or talking with about are more interesting from a mechanical perspective.

It's a bit like watching Top Gear and expecting a a factual analysis of cars Neil, far better to sit back and view it merely as Sunday evening "entertainment" featuring some cars. This article too is best viewed as "entertainment" featuring a car biggrin

Good to know "the Biest has racecar-like throttle sensitivity and an incredibly balanced power band."

That'll be a feature of the "custom exhaust manifold and sport catalytic converter", one can only assume funds wouldn't stretch to two of each......

hehe To be fair though, the article was lacking any real information but its par for the course with speedhunters. Some nice pics and hint of a story seems to be their standard fare.

From a technical perspective I can understand their frustration - I have been playing with computers all my life and consider myself reasonably competent with their hardware and software and its annoying when you see some bullst on tv designed to appeal to the masses with no real substance behind it.

Don't think there's any "outgeeking" going on. I've no issue with the car here, likewise the owner, my problem is with the feature itself, it's littered with inaccuracies.
