Clocked up between 4AM and half an hour ago with 170L of fuel burnt whilst doing it. It was clean when I left this morning wink

Some way short of my personal best of 1044 miles in a day. As normal it didn't miss a beat, not bad for a 16 year old, 220K mile banger.

It's got some big maintenance scheduled in May where it will have its second clutch ever (all the track work is taking a toll on this one), corners rebuilt and for the first time in its life some paint! Should tick over 250K miles sometime in August.... original motor still going strong.

Fantastic, what they are meant for.
Why all that mileage in a day though?
I did 610 on Thursday last week on business, not in my Porsche I hasten to add!

Needed to collect some parts. It also goes to Faenza, Barcelona, Marseille and Cologne on a pretty regular basis. Barcelona is just under 2000 miles round trip and Faenza just over.

It could do with more fuel capacity really as it only just does 460 miles on a fill when making progress but squeezing a larger secondary tank in puts it too far into the crash structure to be acceptable. 100L GT3 bag tank + the current secondary tank would be perfect (with fillers in the bonnet for extra cool) but a £6K tank isn't really justifiable and dry break fillers are a pain at the petrol station wink

Just over 40mph average speed - were you doing it all in reverse? smile

You sure it wasn't 69.99 rofl

Sounds like a great drive, exactly what these cars are good at.

I took my Boxster from Croatia to South London in 23 hours last July. Was about 1200 miles I think. Didn't plan on it but just turned out not to feel like stopping...

Love road trips like this.

Have done in no particular order

London to Bordeaux - 997 turbo
London to France, Italy and Switzerland over a couple of weeks - 987 boxster s
London to Bordeaux - 997 Carrera S
London to the Nurburgring- 997 Carrera S
London to Nice - Griffith 500
London to La Rochelle - Maserati Granturismo S F1

Introduces a bit more of the old school romance of motoring freedom than a 30 mile blast around your local roads and reminds you why you spend your hard earned on a nice motor

I've only had my first porsch 2 weeks and 2 days. I've put 2300 miles on it in that time.

The problem for me is it is amazing to drive down a lovely road, but also the fact it's so good at doing the mundane things that there is no reason to drive any other car.

When I was driving it around the uk in the last 2 days I clocked up 800 miles, most of it was motorway where it was smooth refined, relaxing, good stereo, but then you got to an empty B road and it was so good why would you want to drive any other car!!!

Mate(s), know the feeling! When I got my Porsche I told my insurers I'd be doing 5,000 miles a year. Did it in four months and had to make a sheepish phone call...
