this is so great... I''m taking summer classes at purdue university in west lafayette, indiana, and I just decided to give my next presentation for my communications class on the most recent controversy between Firestone/Bridgestone and Ford. I already had major articles from the Detroit Free Press and NY times and Washington post, but this is right along the thesis I was planning to argue, that Ford used Firestone as a scapegoat to hide the safety issues of the 3rd best-selling vehicle in the united states (f-150, chevy/gmc fullsize pickups, explorer, caravan, I''m pretty sure). To all of you who were dumb enough to buy an explorer, the accord of the SUV world, I think you are getting what you deserve. I''m pretty sure anyone who has ever come to me (I''m the local car nut) asking about what SUV to buy, I usually directed them to Grand Cherokees or Acura MDXs or BMW x5s, cars designed to have total control over their motions despite their height, not some 2 generation old modification of that most bastard-like of pickups, the ranger, which is also on the best-selling list somewhere, or at least it used to be. later.
