I became a dad on boxing day and want to be able to whizz the sprog around in the 355 when the good weather arrives (those days are already getting longer!).

Has anyone got any good recs for a suitable seat? Will i be able to use the rear facing seat i use in the BMW? Also, can i disable the airbag myself or is this a delaer job?

Stu - firstly, congratulations! Secondly, most of the standard seats, front and rear facing, fit no probs (or they do in the TVR and 348). Obviously once the airbag is turned off.

Cool! And the disabling of the airbag?

I see you're a Eurohoon veteran. How on earth did you put up with oggs for a whole week?!

Actually i haven't! I really need to ring Verdi's but the little one seems to be taking up all my time at the moment!

Are there any drive outs planned Oggs? Are you doing the April mini-hoon?

Stuh,

Congratulations on becoming a dad. Hard work but great fun!

To fit a rear facing seat (for newborns up to about 9 months) you will need to disable the airbag, otherwise it is not only illegal, but incredibly dangerous for your child. Disabling the airbag is (I have been led to believe) a tortuous process and expensive as a result. I considered doing the same with my 355.

For a forward facing seat, well you'll have to wait a bit yet...

Figures. TVR's are always out back somewhere

How did you find the 348 on the trip? I'm tempted to take my 355 next time out............

To be honest Stu, most of the time Oggs' Chimaera coped admirably.

I had only had the 348 two weeks when I took it on Hoon. I managed to boil the brake fluid at the end of the last day in the Alps, which may well have been my sh!te braking and had a broken bolt on the aircon pump. All in all the car was great fun and a real pleasure to drive... on balance I think I will keep it clean on next Hoon... looks so much better in the pictures
