Does anybody know if the seats in 3200's can be further lowered by any means.

In my old (late lamented) car, I just needed another 1" (story of my life, I'm afraid) to stop my head rubbing on the roof and in the test drive in my new one yesterday, same story.

When I drove a 4200 last year there was more headroom.

surely it's got to be possible to put different seats in - eg 360 buckets or similar. Wonder how much that would cost....

You're looking at £1,500 for pair of Recaros (fitting included), but what you really need is a good trimmer to take out your passenger seat and look at the possibilities. Southbound (near Winchester) are excellent, but there must be a good firm closer to you.

Recaro or Momo seats can be had with side fitting kits which would be lower, but if you want to match the existing upholstery it'll cost a bomb. Why not visit the Autosport Show and see what's available?

Thanks Mr McN,

I'll try that.

I am planning on keeping the car for a long time so it'd be worth it.

Any idea how I'd find a trimmer in the Stoke area?

It would be cheaper to remove the headlining - would that give enough room?

If these people wanted to be helpful they could give you a good recommendation. They probably supply a large number of trimmers and know the good ones:

www.ukhide.co.uk/index.html

Failing that there are a number listed on the following websites - phone round and see if they sound interesting:

www.classic-car-quest.co.uk/specialist_service_more.asp?service=Interior+trim%2Fcoach+trimmers

www.locallife.co.uk/birmingham/vehtrimandupholst3.asp

Not rocket science - you should be OK !
