Tandem Hire for L2B

I've done the London To Brighton bike ride for years, possibly 15 times now, this time round though I'd love to do it on a Tandem.

Trouble is, I don't own a tandem and am struggling to find a company that offers them for the day along with delivery (to Clapham) and collection (from Brighton) of the bike.

Does anyone know of a company offering this service? I know that some do it as I've seen them in Brighton, I just don't know who. Searches on the web have proved fruitless so far.

I've looked into tandem hire a few times for a gigggle on a sportive but I found it would be betterbuying one from ebay or similar and then selling it afterwards. I found the hire chrges were very high and no one was prepared to collect/deliver from one location let alone two. Try ebay, your local CTC and audax websites for one, you should get a reasonable bike in good condition for between £350-500 albeit a flat bar pilot, if its just a one off, it should sell for the same price after the event (or you could keep it!). Nicer drop bar bikes from Cannondale and Dolan will be closer to £1k

I have no means of transport for it. The event will arrange for me to get back to Clapham but not home from London - hence the reason for a rental.

I know companies do it as I've seen them, just can't find one :-(

Get on local cycling Facebook groups, someone local might have one you can borrow?
