So who has ordered the new S550 Mustang?

Plenty of threads about the new Mustang, especially since the prices were published but who has actually ordered one and what they've been
told?

Me, I stuck a grand down yesterday and was told that I would get the car before the end of this year. Apart from a ref number I have heard nothing since, not even an email.

V8 Fastback manual, competition orange no extras.

I ordered this morning : V8 manual , impact blue , custom pack.

I have an 'official' order receipt and was advised it'll be late in Q4 delivery ....

I received this email from the dealer later this pm:

"Just to let you know that I have received the following correspondence from Ford:

“Your customer Marsh has been logged on the Mustang database and will be contacted shortly by the communications team to welcome him to Ford and Mustang.”

Thanks once again for you order."

So, it seesm i exist in Michigan ..or at least in their order system...

I'm still ordering one tomorrow.

Ordered on Sat:

Fastback V8 Manual, Ingot Silver, Custom Pack (want all the toys and don't like Black Alloys - will see about the Chrome surrounds).

As it's the first new car I'll have bought I might as well make it a distinctive one and tick off several 'must achieve before death' boxes

The amazing thing is that Mrs Mac has been quite unfazed by the whole thing - she had her heart set on an XKR, but seems quite keen on the Blue Oval now!

Just hope the '30 Nov 15' delivery date proves at least somewhat accurate and that I'll manage at least a year before I start to 'tinker' with it!!

Six.

V8, manual, impact blue, all options but no custom pack. The missus will find out when I bring it home. If I can keep it secret that long!!!

Already "spent" 2.5k on upgrades! Loudest exhaust I can find, eibach lowering springs and roll bars, new wheels and tyres, along with blacking out the front and rear badges and having the bonnet vents (if we get them over here) done in black too.

Eta a rear spoiler from CDC also!

That's just the point isn't it? Its a Jaguar XK at half price, and the Mustang isn't standard 'Blue Oval' like a Mondeo, or even a Capri. Its got class, pedigree and cool. it's Ford's Aston Martin with added American-ness. AM have Sean Connery and Daniel Craig. Mustang has got Steve McQueen and Carroll Shelby. That is all brand/marketing stuff, but it matters, and it looks as if it delivers in the real world too.

Anyway, my £1k goes down as soon as the sports seats become an option.

Make that 7, ordered one today at the 2nd dealership I visited (apparently only Ford 'stores' can take orders for the Mustang)

Anyway, they are saying Q4 which I take to mean Q1 next year, I've ordered a 5.0 litre convertible in ruby red with custom pack.



Had the st ripped out of me by my best friend as apparently they 'don't go round corners'

But my Mrs is called Sally, so as my best mate said, give it to her then it can be Mustang Sally, ummm

Thanks. No all I have had is the UK spec and the quotation with the order number. I don't think we are going to hear anything more for a while.

Another one here - ordered on Monday V8 manual, with all three options added (didn't want the nickel wheels or chrome window surrounds), in Ruby Red. £1k deposit paid, not heard anything more so far.

Good colour choice unpc!

Let try and get all the pics of the cars up from the configurator.

Nice to see a wide choice of colours and not a white one in sight, unlike when ordering my M3.

No update from me and do expect one until demo cars are ready.

Weirdly you can only get the dark saddle with selected colours not all colours.

When I ordered I asked the dealer how many orders they'd had, she said 5, only 1 of which was a 2.3 ecoboost, and surprisingly (for me anyway) mine was the first ragtop.
