Polar & Bluetooth HRM compatibility?

Ok, I feel stupid for not being able to work this out, have checked online in multiple places but no clear idea.

I have a Polar watch (lost strap) an exercise bike which is Polar compatible, IPhone which I want to use Bluetooth HRM with... can I buy one chest strap that works with all of these instead of buying 2 or 3 straps?

I'm pretty sure the answer is no.

Unless something has changed recently (and you have recent stuff), polar used their own proprietary protocol (memory says they called it wind, but that may be rubbish), whereas the rest of the world used ant/ant+

You can get a dual mode ant+/bluetooth hrm (wahoo for one, but I think there are others).

Doesn't the Polar H7 transmitter have both Bluetooth (v4 BLE) and Polar?

I use mine on the bike and in the gym with my iPhone. Haven't tried it with the old FT80 watch but the specs say it's compatible.

Note: It's the new-fangled Bluetooth spec, so only works with iPhone 4S and later.

Thanks Tom, on the face of it that does look like it does both... its interesting that it works with "many" Polar products but not all... whats the odds my Exercise bike is one of those :-)
