bored on this friday and office goddess wanted to know where her name came from - soooooo after looking it up on the net i thought i'd do further research:

Aiden ( carzee ):Pet form of AODH. This was the name of an Irish monk and saint of the 7th century.

Saint??? hahaha

Rich: "brave power" from Germanic ric "power, rule" and hard "brave, hardy".

well u have to be brave to drive a tvr!

Ted: "rich guard" from Old English ead "rich, blessed" and weard "guard".

blessed with the power of piston heads

etc etc www.behindthename.com

best one was informing the office goddess that her name meant:

NINA (2) f Near Eastern Mythology
"enclosure of fish" (Babylonian). This was the name of a Babylonian fertility goddess, the patron goddess of the city of Nineveh.

soo true...

I've just done that google search on my own name and I feel a Dave Gorman esk search coming on. I didn't know my name was that common! (OK, not really that common but more than I thought!)

As for what my name means....it couldn't be duller, just means "black".

My name is quite amusing:

GRANT m /GRANT/ English, Scottish
From a Scottish surname which was derived from Norman French grand meaning "great, large".

Hmmm... so why did people pick their Gassing Station names?

Podie is a derivation of Paul... apparently my signature looks like "Pod"... hence I became known as Podie... hey that's students for you

Anyway - if you're bored, check out www.popcap.com - and try Diamond Mind or Insaniquariam!

My first name means "gift from God" (I knew that anyway).

So I guess I'm God's gift to my wife.

(Question is: would she agree?)

Nooooooooo... Oh I wish you hadn't suggested using google to search on your own name. I really do; 1.3m hits, and according to this I am several types of sports star, a bloody gynaecologist, a recording artist (with a track called sunday driver- how apt) and there was a film about my disappearance.

Who am I? Fcuked if I know....
