While zooming around this morning revelling in "perfect" gearchanges in the sunshine I was a wondering what would flaps be like?! Has anyone used a car with the gearchange on the steering wheel a la ferrari? do u prefer it?

Get to drive a 'switchtronic' Alpina every now and again, that's got 2 buttons on the back of the steering wheel, not bad, but the auto box it's wired up to isn't bad either, so after a few miles you end up just slotting it back in to auto, the computer will not let you do any silly gear changes, and trying to match revs to road speed on down changes is a bit tricky, all in all not bad, nice 'toy' some cars suit it some do not Once drove a Nissan Primaera with a forward/backward up/down box, complete waste of time, the noise it made on down changes made you think it was about to explode
