Interesting ex-Millar S5 frame on ebay

Slipstream have been selling off old team bikes for a while but this is the first Millar bike to come up for sale. Interestingly, its the front and rear of a 56cm S5 with the top tube and down tube of a 61cm S5, as they say, long and low! Ho hum, I thought it was interesting!....

Too big for me. There does seem to be a craze amongst pros to use tiny frames these days with long stems. Cav used to ride a 54 IIRC - now rides a 48...

Someone'll need to be tall & flexible to ride that successfully ! 61cm top tube and the fork's cut for no spacers.

18cm head tube is quite tall but perhaps negated a little with a very long top tube. Maybe he runs a shorter stem than the others? 130-140mm seems quite common among the pros.

Perhaps he runs 110mm or something. He doesn't look that tall DM.

^^^That's actually rather tall. I now see the logic for the bike's dimensions.

Not necessarily. It's a mixed bag. Millar's frame is long because he is tall and lanky. Cavendish has short legs so I could see the smaller frame being fine for him.

The sprinters prefer a long stem to get properly low too I think, Cav especially, can really get his head down by the front wheel that way.
