I have just bought a 996 Turbo which was stated to have a GT3 brake conversion on the front. Weird thing is that the rears seem to have been changed too.

So far I have ascertained that the rear calipers are one piece, red, and the pads have to be withdrawn after the caliper is removed. The pads are not standard 996tt, they don't fit, and the old ones have two holes rather than two cylindrical pegs. Finally, the rear discs measure around 350mm rather than 330mm but I cannot measure the thickness of the old ones properly.

Wld be really helpful if someone could help as it is pretty much unusable and I am going to have to return some pads so far.

Thanks.

Could be a 997 gt3 rear caliper. Does it look like this?

It does look like that, yes. Are they the same as the 997 Turbo ones?

Hi, Ive responded to the other post but will repeat it here. When I owned the car I only changed the fronts, the rears were left as standard so this may of been done by the previous owner.

Might be worth adding a picture of your rears?

Finally worked out they are 997 Turbo Brembo calipers with 350mm discs.
