Warren - would it be possible for you todelete the No plate from your post please - the owner might not be too pleased by someone he does not know, on a public forum, telling people who may know him or his car that it has been crashed.

No sweat but if you could simply edit it it may save some upset.

cheers.

Cheers matey!

Read your first posting with interest. Motoring journalism isn't such a closed shop. Ring a few mags up, see what copy would interest them and offer them pieces for free to see what they think. Small steps at a time and probably a lot that doesn't get used, but if they're any good, it's one less thing for the Ed to write. Maybe do some news pieces on new products, stuff you can do in your spare time - even try motoring sections of local rags, never know.

Good luck.

I was simply being sociable and taking an interest in a post that another member wrote asking for advice on.

We tend to do that here

My old mum reckons that to make the best "Sailing Boat" Yorkshire puddings you need to pour the batter into a pan full of oil preheated to 100degrees and then place tray on the bottom shelf of an over at 180degrees.

My misses goes for the Aunt Bessies

Don't know where you've been then - most of us find it a pretty useful site and have made a shed load of good mates and had an equal number of good times.

Oil? OIL? OOOOIIIIIIILLLLLLL?

The BEST Yorkshire puddings are cooked in lard. Beef will do, pork is better for flavour.

The fat should be spitting when you put the batter in and don't be tempted to open the oven too early.

As for Aunt Bessies, my grandad would spin in his grave.

For real? Every single one of the threads (7 in total) you have ever started has had a reply the same day that you posted it, with a couple of them promoting big discussion!?

This is one of the friendliest places I've known, and indeed solely through this website I've made some very good friends (Al Burriana who posted above coincidentally is one of them)!

Though, do be honest and say why you do not think so? (sorry for thread hijack)

s'alright Tony... Woza hasn't been back on since so I don't think he'll be too upset....

.... as for Aunt Bessie's... good God what are you thinking, that's like buying an M3 convertible instead of a TVR Griffith just because they are easier and less hassle!

Sorry when I said oil I meant juices from the meat.

Even my Gran rest her soul, who was never satisfied unless her Yorkshires grew through the shelf above, thought Aunt Bessies were acceptable.

When we were kids we used to have granny built yorkshires with jam for us pudding

I think you've got hold of the wrong end of the stick! I was commenting on the practice of hijacking threads, not on the usefulness/friendlyness of this forum.

Sorry, I must have the wrong end too - your first post was a go at me for trying to help with a query that the original poster asked about some while back. It might not have related to his current post, but it was relevant to him nonetheless.

Anyway - I'm Yorkshire born and bred but i still can't get my head round Yorkshire puddings for, well, pudding!
