I know, I know, this one has been done to death, please bear with me.

I thought I had made up my mind with the Advans. However, I was wondering if I should consider the A048's bearing in mind the following:

S1 111S
LSS
Second car so only a few thousand miles a year
Don't really like to take it out in the wet
Might do the odd track day but only once in a while
Do enjoy "spirited" driving on twisty A / B roads

Seems like they might be well suited?

What do we all think?

How dangerous are they in the wet - any worse than P0's?

I understand they can't cope with standing water but I guess most roads drain water away so shouldn't really encounter much?

Cheers

As you have LSS you won't need to upgrade anything so it should be fine.

They are OK in the wet apart from (as you say) standing water. I went on a run recently in the wet and a guy in a VXR (A048s as standard) and he had a few 'moments' but otherwise he was fine. That said I wouldn't have wanted to be on 48s when the roads were very greasy before Xmas.

IMO P-zeros aren't that bad in the wet, it's all relative though and Advans are meant to be much better.

Only my opinion, for you to consider, and of course others reading this....

I have Yokohama AVS which seem to be performing very well both wet and dry.

Having said that, I have no experiences of any other tyres on the car.

The Advans are a world apart from P-Zeros, wet or dry. Though the P-Zeros are more fun on track For road use, I would prefer Advans over any cut slick (which are pointless on the road, imho).
