I was about to come here and ask. Whats the easiest way for someone in the south west of the country to view some amateur gravel and dirt rally stages this summer?

Indeed there is the Somerset Stages, which sadly is the only gravel rally in the south west! This year it's on Saturday April 18th.

Spectators are not really allowed to watch on the stages, but the Porlock toll road is easy to find, and most of the stages are in the Croydon Woods area near Timberscombe. There is a spectator stage, which isn't bad, but I like to find my own area to watch from really

My days are all over the place with all my short weeks, and half days at work over xmas, but starting a rally on a Monday is just going to make things worse

Great vids! Brings back memories - I was at the other end of the field in a Twingo. Start SS4 I had just changed my third puncture of the day, and Swanny had just kicked the screen out of his Fiesta. Needless to say we were a little slower off the line than that Polo! Great vids. Any of the National?

Ah the Monte.

Can't believe it will 20 years since I spectated on the Monte.

A group of us from my local motorclub went skiing in France, not that far from the Monte stages, so, all being involved in rallying we decided to skip a days skiing for the chance to spectate on the Monte. Hired a local driver and a mini-bus and spent the day cheering on Colin in what was to become his WRC winning year.

Is Andy Burton still going? I know he was looking at a successor to the 306 but many of the Internet sites appear to have gone missing.

Sadly not, the MSA banned the 306 a few years ago now Really do miss that howling V6 echoing through the forest.
