It was broken when I got the
car,patched up a couple of times, think this will be the last time.

just needs a 'proper' glassfibre repair - there are a few experts on here

try gooooogling Essex fibreglass repairs!!!

If it were mine...

1. I'd un-bolt it, to get better access and get it away from other trim, carpet etc.

2. use proper fibreglass mat and resin rather than (what looks like) chopped fibreglass filler.

3. try drilling up through the two parts to get some strengthening pins in, couple of long nails or similar.

It's all unbolted just like that to get it in the right place, and have put nails in to strengthen it hopefully, going to get a new roof this year so would like to have one that's not broken.

Hi Barry,
If it was mine I would make a piece of 6 mm ally plate with a hole for the bold, make it long enough to fit say 4" inside the hoop, use a glass fibber paste to secure, ( not a filler), bolt it up all until set, use glass mat to make the original shape, just glass on the outside won't work it needs to be set up into the hoop.
