Cycle Path Petition

Not sure whether this is a good idea or not, or maybe even contravenes PH posting rules?
Would a topic to discuss and share proposed cycle paths be of any interest?
Local to me there's a spur proposed to join Yate and Chipping Sodbury to the main Bristol-Bath Railway Path which would make commuting by bicycle viable for many. The roads are simply not safe enough to do so unless you're way braver than me. Not only will it enable people to safely cycle but get many cyclists off the roads which may make (we) motorists happy too.
