is anybody else experiencing what I would call severe stone chipping on the forward edge of the rear arches, and the front clam? Or is my paint just especially fragile? only 3 weeks old but chipped to hell. any ideas, have heard of a protective film, but dont know any details, maybe you guys will. Maybe the Elise is just a good woman......high maintainance, but worth the effort.

TADTS

My S1 has a very fetching pebble dashed look to the front clam!

Armourfend is the stuff you're looking for but it doesnt cover the clam entirely and costs £500.

So you're better off just getting the front clam resprayed every few years.

as above - normal, only thing you can do is armourfend...but you have to have it on from new or after a re-spray..no pint in putting it on top of existing chips

Was looking at mine yesterday and even with the armourfend it still chips round the edge.

Hi,

I've had a full armourfend kit on my S1 since new and the paintwork is practically immaculate - unmarked!

As others have said, only worth putting on when new or after a re-spray. Can yellow with time but can't comment on that with chrome orange!

If you do one day consider a re-spray also consider Armourfend - it really is very good!

Had Armourfend on about 18 months on Clam & Sills & very pleased with it, even though it was £500.

my s2 wasnt in bad conditon after 2 odd years

i especially tried not to tailgate too closely to cars infront, as this is probably the main cause of chipping on the front

How many miles have you done? That sounds very dubious to me in a new 111r... I have a 4 month old VX with nearly 5000 miles, it has a few chips on the bonnet and around the engine inlets. I have armourfend on the from bumper, sills (250 fitted). I saw pics of one VX with terrible chips arounds the sills... Def a badly prepared paint job imo
