Anywhere to ride an MTB near Ilminster?

Morning all,
I shall be at my parents' in Ilminster for Christmas. I was thinking of taking my MTB down just to get out and get some fresh air and a bit of fun, but looking on OS maps, the whole area seems to be littered with footpaths, but there seem to be next to no bridleways.
I've found a few between Yeovil and Ilchester, but even there it looks impossible to really join them up in any sort of sensible fashion.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I know I could find riding to my heart's content (or, indeed, failure!) on Exmoor or the Quantocks, but as I'm supposed to be spending Christmas with the family, I can't really get away with anything more than 2-3 hours in total, including time to get there and back.
