Look keo classic 2 pedal fitting problem

I'm sure there is a simple explanation for this, but I can't figure it out! I have greased both threads and can get both left and right pedals on a couple of turns, but then they tighten up with about 5 mm of thread left to wind in. I can't seem to get a 6 mm Allen key to find any purchase, should it be an 8 mm? I'm not convinced there is a head to put the allen key in, and I don't want to bugger them or the crank arms. Help!

As has been said an 8 mm allen key is what is needed.

Also don't forget that the left hand pedal (non drive side) is anti clock wise.

Yup - dropped a tenner on a Park Tools 8mm Allen key, pedals on, looking forward to tomorrow!

Really? A tenner for one Allen key? You can get a full set for less than that! Park Tools strikes again.

I know but the job is done and I can get back on the bike tomorrow. Was worried I'd strip the thread off the pedals and/or cranks
