mas3200 + crash barrier @ 70 = pics

Sorry to hear about your prang.
Good strength on that car though. Doesn't look like your passenger cell was affected at all, and 70mph's a fair old hit.
Most cars will rust like this given the conditions.
Good luck with whatever replacement you get and hope you're feeling OK after the incident.

I think the crash barrier was the governing factor - it collapses as you hit it.
I think a wall would have been a different story.
So far, the insurers engineer is having problems with Maserati as nobody wants to come out and give a professional view. JCT600 are only a few miles from where the car is being stored but say they only fix Ferraris these days.
He seems a good bloke and openly admits that Mas's are beyond his scope.
He's going to call Maserati in Egham tomorrow (Tuesday).

Don't forget, if they fix it you need to ask for the money it will have depreciated because of the crash. Can't remember the actual name. But sure somone will know. It's been posted on site before.
Diminution (sp?)
Such a shame to see pictures like that of such great cars
As far as the insurance goes, I had a relatively easy ride considering the timing over the bank holidays.
I got the usual "we know you are waiting" rubbish for 30 mins at a time but mostly everybody at Liverpool Victoria was helpful.
The car was insured for £31000 with £400 excess and they have settled at £30,500 so I end up with that less the excess.
The engineer told me that Maserati had quoted over 25k for parts only.
He was a very amiable chap and it was he who agreed the settlement which should be with me in the next few days.
I also have an amazing 1 litre Corsa until 5 days after receipt of the settlement cheque.
I'll be looking for another 3200 as I think the styling is slightly more classic than the 4200.

I'm with the Liverpool Victoria, got a good quote this year.
Can't blame you for sticking with a 3200, your right about the styling. The 4200? seems to have lost somthing. Still, very nice car.

The car was a March 01.
It had done 27000 when I bought it in July and approx 36000 at the time of the crash.
Condition was very good apart from a knock on the front nearside wheel where I caught a kerb.
Paul Are you looking for a straight purchase or are you adding extra cash to the deal ?
For what its worth I bought from Meridien and the service and car has been excellent.
Reason I ask is that they have a good selection but the prices are just above your insurance payout.
Its also worth haggling with them.
If you make a call to them ask for "Ollie" as he is a top Guy.
Hope this helps your search mate.
Glad to hear you and your passengers are ok.
