I'll type this now while I'm still sober, Happy New Year folks.

As another passes over the weir that is life, it is a time to reflect and remember the happy times...

This year I've had so many "firsts" I can't remember from holidaying in a different country to driving the furthest I've ever been from home to going to see K T Tunstall by myself. I've been places I've never been before, seen sights I'd never had thought I'd see, witnessed sunsets in the most glorious locations... but most importantly I've done all those things with friends, be it Teemu in Egypt, Dave at the Lakes, Ken helping me around my birthday time, PH'ers at any one of our runs/nights...

While as 2004 has had some shockingly terrible moments for me and was probably the closest I've ever come to not making it out of a year, I'm ending it happier, stronger and better prepared for life ahead than when I started and for that I'm grateful.

I don't make "New Years Resolutions" as well, to me they are suggesting you've failed at something the previous year, this year however I think it's fair to say I hope to build upon and have many more happy times. 2005 will be another trying year with final exams, dissertation, graduating and having to get a proper job but I face it with a nervous anticipation that I've never known before.

All the best for 2005, and thanks to everyone here for helping me "wake up" to life outside in 2004!

Happy New Year to all you North East Pistonheads,
and to other TVRCC members.

Taxed the car today, then took her for a blast down to York and back.

She behaved impeccably as usual, but is absolutely filthy.

Do I cancel my AA membership, or is that tempting fate ?

don't do it. Yes it's tempting fate. I recon on two calls per year and consider myself lucky.

It is near SpennyMoor, just south of Durham. I'll sort out a map now for you

It's here

And the car park looked like this last time I was there

the AA stopped covering me after 11 callouts in 2003 and the RAC stopped covering me ages ago for 5 callouts...I'm now with green flag and intend to work through all of the major ones until i'm back to the AA
