Interior Door Handle Removal
Discussion
Hi All
Hopefully an easy one.
I need to remove my internal door handles from the door cards so I can spray the leather. However, I can't get to the back of them to see how they are attached.
Are they easy to remove, or would I be better to spray round them and hope for a good finish?
Thanks

The cards are held with the usual plastic push fixings around the edge, a single visible screw towards the rear edge and a small stud and nut in the middle of the door accessed by removing a speaker and sticking your arm up the back. It may be a nut or could have been changed to a wing nut. There’s probably pictures on here somewhere if you do a search.

The armrest which contains the door handle and is attached to the main door card can be separated by undoing the small nuts on the back of the card. These may be hidden by foam padding. However you may find that the plastic escutcheon may have been glassfibred in. At least you will be able to see it! It is the same procedure if you ever have to replace the release cable.
