My engine lid will not stay open for very long at all as it needs the strut replacing - can anyone help with a replacement?

I ordered this one, but when it arrived it was for a pre-98 car according to the box (although the website says it's good for mine) :

http://www.gsfcarparts.com/877po0030

While I was in the shop taking it back I was told that the following would fit:

http://www.gsfcarparts.com/877po0070

I didn't order it as they didn't have any in stock and I didn't actually really want to pay for a strut, I was only doing so because it was cheap and I didn't want to risk another wasted journey.

GSF are now running a 33% off discount code, so I'm willing to try again, but can anyone tell me if po0070 is the right part? On the website it's listed as being shorter than po0030, which is a shame as po0030 was already too short.

Thanks

Quick delivery although a PITA to fit.

Thanks for the tip, hadn't seen that site before.

Comes to the same price - £25.14 - but I'm much more tempted by GSF's 33% off, if it's the right bit! I'm fair too tight to be paying full price for something only really enjoyed by the folks down the garage smile

Quick bump to ask if anyone knows the GSF part?

There's 35% off if ordered before Sunday and using the code NOVE35

I've quite like to pay as little as possible for this.. Thanks

Bump anyone? GSF are offering a third off again and I'm still too tight to spend proper money on this. Thanks.

Perfect, thanks! I don't usually venture to GG, but on this occasion it looks like a good idea.

GSF have emailed to say they don't carry the part - a bit of a shame, but great service to let me know on a Saturday lunchtime.

I bought a 996 C4S strut from ebay a couple of years ago for about £30. Seller was Jasmine Motorsport.
