Question for folks who've done a Wiggle/UK Cycling Event

Fairly straight forward one.
In the T&C's of wiggles events it says that entries cannot be transferred (bit tight considering people have honest emergencies before events that mean they can't go, and a replacement bod is better than none, but still).
Do they do an ID check at registration? Nowhere in the pre-event info does it say you have to bring any ID, just yourself and helmet.
So my question is, if John Smith was meant to be going and then can't, could I go and be John Smith for the day?

No checks and when they have pulled events they gave us several options for replacement events.
The only slight annoyance was I couldn't attend once when there was nation wide storms and flooding, I suspected the event would be cancelled but they went ahead (allegedly with a few hundred entrants rather than 1500 who had paid) and none of us where given any consideration- fair by the T's and C's but I thought it was abit hard.
Great events otherwise.

Was that the Welsh Raider by any chance? I re-read rule 9 and did the epic route on that event with Pablo! It was interesting!!!Steve

White Ferry a couple of years ago, there was 36hours of torrential rain and wide spread flooding in the West/South West, would have been "a mission" to make it to the start.Steve
I did do last years RideLondon in the tail of the Hurricane so I earned my wet-ride stripe... but I had the advantage of already being at the start from the day before :-)
Riding in foul weather it one thing, getting properly stuck in a flood in the car hundreds of miles from home when you have to work the next day isn't covered by the rules ;-)

I should hasten to add, I'm all registered and am attending as myself, its for someone else.
Personally I'd have thought they'd rather have someone attend than not, but there we go.
