Giro Empires - any experience?

My Bont Vaypor's are a couple of years old with 20+k miles on them, they have lasted well but are beginning to get a bit stretched over the bridge of the shoe. Also, they are really out and out racing shoes so after 60/70 miles can become quite uncomfortable, after 100 miles can be downright painful.

I am considering the Giro Empires and like the idea of the laces as it means the entire length of the shoe is 'adjustable', but as with the Bont's they are not cheap. All of the reviews online are excellent but before I try to find a shop that stocks them does anyone on here have any real life experience of them? If so are they comfortable? Do the laces stretch after a few miles in the saddle? Are they well vented? Do they give you hot-spots after 60/70 miles?

Your shoes are not right if they hurt after 100 miles tbh. You should look into that, I've never had comfort issues with mine.

The empires come reccomended from a few people I know, though as they said, at a certain price point shoes are shoes...
