Removing a Splined BB

My BB on my commute bike needs changing cleaning because its making a racket.

Its not been checked for 4 years.

I have managed to remove one of the nylon retaining bolts but the other side is stuck fast and the teeth have shredded and there is pretty much nothing left to grip to now.

Any tips to remove it please?

Did you turn it the correct way? One side is a left hand thread.

Is the bottom bracket out, and you just have the cup, or is it a cartridge type and is still connected to the stuck bit?
