Boxes for moving house - ebay

Guys,
We're moving house shortly and need approx 40x heavy duty large boxes. There seems to be hundreds of sellers on ebay, but does anyone have a personal recommendation, or otherwise? Last thing I want is the box to collapse

We decided to rent lidded plastic crates (more commonly used in office moves) when we moved house earlier in the year.
The cost was something like £1.50 per box per week if we collected/returned ourselves. However they are quite bulky and I'd only get 10 in my golf when nested.
I'd suggest you go for more of the smaller type as the usual office size are difficult to get through a standard residential door opening. Also you're more likely to put in more than you can lift.
That said they are very strong, you can stack them easily and there is no chance that the bottom will fall through.

You can buy them outright for around £12each. I bought a pallet with 120 on them, split them with my mate who was also moving. i live round the corner from http://www.boxsupplies.co.uk/ so get a great cash deal. cant guarantee online prices though!

I don't know how the cost compares (although I can guess!!) but you can get decent strong boxes from your local self-storage places, if you want to look at them first. They come flat-packed (obv) so are easy to transport.
Don't do that. They are really expensive. I speak from experience. Ebay/Amazon is the way forward. AW10 said:

We're moving in a couple of weeks, found a local company that had hundreds of double walled solid boxes they needed rid of - took as many as we thought we'd need with an offer that there's always more if we need them - all folded flat and by the door for collection
Maybe go for a trawl of your local industrial estates - sounds obvious but any business that sends/receives a lot of stuff in cardboard boxes will probably have plenty "in stock"

But had time to move so they were great at 5-6 at a time in a car. Do hold a decent weight though.
Could sell after but they are useful for storage anyway.

Are you using a removal company and did they not offer to rent you boxes?
When we moved, over 250 miles, the removal company sold us some ex rental boxes pretty cheap as we were unable to easily return them. They only rent the boxes out 4 times before chucking them in the recycling.
