Porsche 987 boxster key is STUCK

Alright peeps

I have looked everywhere for a solution, few similar issues but no real answers.

the key won't release even though it's in park and shows it's in park, but as you go to remove the display says not in park and won't release.

It was doing it intermittently to start with but now I need to use the tool all the time, I'm just about to trade it in so need to get it fixed sharpish.

Is the common fault in the centre console or ignition sensor ?

Happened to my 997. Five min fix at the garage. They replaced some kind of module, a plug in job.

Autos generally all have a "park" switch on the shift mechanism. Might be worth removing the console and having a look? Dirt ingress, poor connection?

Thanks il whip out the consol have a look at the the connections, if no joy il take it to the garage.
