Anyone been daft enough to try fitting a 'normal' bike rack, not the Porsche one, to a Gen 1 Boxster?

There's often a gen 1 boxster that sits outside my work with a "normal" looking bikerack fitted. Saw a santa cruz heckler on it once which ain't exactly a light bike, so it must be a resonably sturdy rack/fit.

From a search on the net I found that a Saris Bones 2 and 3 will fit but no pictures.
I too have a boxster and it is useless for carrying bikes, I bought a cheap runabout to carry the bikes.
After countless hours on the net if you held a gun on my head this is what I would go for:

If the link does not work it is a diy combination of Yakima tray and seasucker cups.
No damage to car's paint, no damage to bike's frame and the spoiler works (roof does not however). Ok it only carries one bike and you have to take the wheel off but as I've said 987 is useless for bikes.

Think I might stick to using the other car, tempted to try a Saris if I can borrow one to see it fits first but probably only going to keep the Boxster 6 months so spending big to carry the bike is a bit pointless. rotate

Wiggle.co.uk sell Saris Bones - buy, try and return FOC if it doesn't work out. They also price match, I ended up with one for £99, for family car not tried it on my Cayman.

Watching this topic with interest regarding the Saris bones. I hope somebody can give a definitive answer soon, with photos etc? I used to have a Saris bones (the 2 bike version) on my E36 M3 Convertible. I had initially bought the unadjustable (1 bike) version, this didn't get anywhere near fitting! I returned it and got the 2 bike rack. This fitted perfectly as Multi-adjustable (as is the 3 bike version). Unfortunately I sold the rack with the car
