Interesting places to eat around london...with one condition

It has to be able to somehow offer a meal(s) or cater for 1 vegan and 2 vegetarians (yes I know, unfortunate that I know them) . Can anyone throw any suggestions at me?
Ideally central/east london, though can go north if need be.

Types of food? Anything as long as its reasonably priced. Although I will like it if the place is very meaty.

I'm aware that indian and pizza places could easily cater for a vegan. Tayyabs and Pizza East come to mind. I've never been to both.

Open to ANY sort of cuisine. Any place, long as its not expensive (casual place to eat) interesting, or with some kind of quirk.

I had a great lunch at Chez Elles on Brick Lane this week. Nice-looking veg options and a really good atmosphere.

Looks ok for a vegetarian, not for a vegan however.

Nice. although I feel as though we have plenty of indian type of places closer to home that we can go to, even if they might not be as good. (far east london).

I want to find something different, that's not in the area.

Any cuisine, asian, mexican, turkish, some other middle eastern,grill, south american. you name it.

Although I know its not the best these days, we have been to Wagamama countless times. So I'm not overly keen on going somewhere similar again.



Please please, I don't want to eat somewhere vegetarian! I'd rather eat somewhere meaty such as BigEasy or Bodeans, however they don't have enough vegetarian options (just one) and i doubt a vegan one. As long as there are afew menu items that they can eat that's fine by me. The majority of us are omnivores, most places these days have a couple of vegetarian opitons so its not too much of an issue.... the issue however is the 1 vegan friend.

I'm a dedicated meat eater but the place I suggested was honestly one of the best meals I've eaten, vegetarian or not. Black Vanilla is even better according to everyone I know who's eaten there.

Why rule out some excellent restaurants just because they won't serve you a mediocre steak and fries?

I think you will struggle with Mexican, I like Lupita but a lot of their veggie stuff will have dairy. Same with Wahaca. Lots of little plates for veggies but limited for vegans.

Lebanese ? I have been to http://www.kenza-restaurant.com/ and thought it was great. And meaty too ! Again, enough variety in the smaller plates to keep everyone amused.

We have been to afew mexican places, generic ones such as Chimichangas. It's easy to just remove any cheese/sour cream out of their meal. Same goes for pizza places, the vegan just asks to not have cheese on a vegetarian pizza.

Is anyone able to suggest any more? It would seem like the vegan friend of mine won't be in attendance, which should open up the choices a whole lot more!

I'd recommend Wahaca for Mexican food.

Lots of meat and vegetarian choice. I, as a vegetarian, really like it and so do my nonveg friends.

Not too expensive, you'll be stuffed for £20-25 a head. The one in Soho also has a nice bar downstairs.

The only issue is that I don't think they take bookings iirc, which is becoming a theme with many of the midpriced London eateries that are popular.

There are also a whole host of burger places such as Meat Liquor, Honest Burger etc which will all have a vegetarian burger option.

Franco Manca are also a great option for pizza. Really tasty and pretty cheap. They don't take bookings but the queue will go quickly enough at the Goodge St branch and they will also happily swap toppings etc, so most pizzas can be made vegetarian.
