Elise in Ice and Snow
Discussion
That time of year is here again
Once again I'll be running the car through the winter (but with a permanent spot reserved in the garage
)
My S1 was a little bu99er to drive in the slippery weather - is the S2 ANY better? I'm not expecting it to be good, I'm just hoping for less bum-clenchingly terrifying. All advice welcome.

Hi Guy's
I've managed to lose both the front and the rear end of my car and there wasn't even any Ice !!! I to will be using my S2 111R all the way through the winter but for us it's only really a Weekend Car, I work at Canary Wharf so there's no need to use it during the Week, there's been some real horror stories posted recently so please guy's take it easy

Find an empty car park with lots of snow and have a practice I think its the most fun you can have in a car and you dont get over 15mph.
I did that once and had "one last go".
manged to keep it sideways for the length of the car park....and a bit more as I slammed sideways into the kerb wrecking the wheels and bending the axel and sterring rack.
Fortunatley I was in a Fiat 128 so the cost was zero!

You sound like a southern softee to me - I'm "looking forward" to driving to work every day throughout the winter across the hilly Peak District. Added to that I live on a huge hill with no room for cars to pass, that the council doesn't grit and that becomes butt-clenchingly treacherous with the lightest dusting of snow. Hmmm - maybe I've bught the wrong car...

Monkey Taylor..... Careful, us 'Southern Softee's' as you put it regularly drive roof off.... My Elise is everyday transport and once the ice is off away we go.
Anyway, didn't you write this in another thread..................

Greetings from the chilly Peak District!
Been working from home today and just looked out the window to check that the Liz is OK - to be greeted by an inch of snow!!! Glad I bought that shower cap - will save half an hour of de-frosting tomorrow morning.
Can't believe I was out with top off last weekend. Roll on next spring...
Loved the 'Roll on Next Spring' quote....

Well just go for a blast, roof off, in the ice and snow due Saturday and you'll feel a whole hell of a lot better
Just for the record, I'm travelling from Sussex to Lancs tonight, so of I'll be bringing the tin top
(With famaily of course) Mark B
I just swap over to these for the winter:
Snow tyres!
No bother whatsoever in snow and slush anymore!
Just have to keep an eye on the ground-clearance or you start scooping snow into the intake at the front
Usually we don't get that much here (only a few inches a few days a year), but as I drive my car for work as well I need to stay mobile..
Bye, Arno.

Went to Tempest Motors on Friday to have my geo done ...where M6 meets M65 got caught in a sudden hailstorm ...within 2 minutes 2 inches of slush on the road , still managed to travel at 70 to 80 mph with no loss of traction , the car behaved as if it was on rails (the AO48s are simply stunning in this type of weather) , overtook numerous 4 b 4s who were struggling to cope with the weather ..arrived at Tempest relaxed and unflusterred , so Liam G you can stick your Toyota up your ar*e , winter = Elise
p.s some of the above is a
ing big ,lie !!!

who on earth would buy a car in that god awful colour!!!!!
Dunno.. I'm colour-blind
(well.. at least I can see very little, if any, green) Makes for very interesting conversations when doing computer wiring... 'attach the green wire...' ummmm.... 'is this green??'
Bye, Arno.
