I sold my off-roading jeep at the weekend and now have a few pound notes in my hand.

I'm looking for a go-kart now, despite still aching from Thursday night.

I tried to buy a TKM kart on eBay, but the price went above my max bid, but thinking about it now, I might have had a lucky escape as I really don't know what I'm looking at.

Should I be looking at the fast 2 stroke karts or the reliable 4 stroke prokarts? I'm quite handy with the tools and don't mind rebuilding engines every so often but don't fancy fixing them every other weekend.

A visit to Warden Law is on the agenda to see how they compare on the track, hopefully I might pick up one from there.

Is it worth buying your own, or just hiring them?

Byff, Karts are all to do with power to weight ratio's so start the diet NOW before the extra stone Xmas will put on you!!!!

we were at Warden Law a while back in the 4strokes and were ran rings around by a 2 stroke that had turned up, that thing seriously shifted!

However, he had just rebuilt it, went on the track and managed around 30laps before it blew again. Apparently, while this is below average, it's not far away from it.

In my mind a reliable 4 stroke to get the basics would be the way forward with an upgrade to a 2 stroke when the need for speed takes your fancy!

Can't you just strip out the cerbera and lower the seat so your boll@%s are an inch off the deck, like a kart??
That shoukld sort out the 'power / weight' ratio quite nicely

I've got a mate in Sunderland with a 100cc Britain kart sitting in his garage with some spares, engine, wets etc from what I remember.

He was selling it, I'll drop him a line and see if he's still got it if you like.

Was pretty quick from what I remember, we used to take it to Langbaurgh (sp?) in Middlesbrough when it first opened.

90mph, an inch off the ground was ' interesting '

I don't think my £550 is going to buy a lot of track day car.

Not unless I can get my hands on an old 205 GTi, strip it and make it into a track day racer as funds allow. Then again, the trailer is sold aswell and we've let the lock up go now. The missus will have a heart attack if I bring home another car

I've bought a kart

TKM off eBay for £270. I can't wait to pick it up and see what the hell I've bought. Apparently, it works, I just don't know how well yet.
