I used to do that to my sister's dollies... I also used to lynch them out of the window... and there was one particularly ugly and squashy one on which I delighted in turning the face inside out.

How about the cover of the Rage Against The Machine album? It had a picture of a monk on the front who burnt himself to death in protest against the way their prime minister practiced against the buddhist religion.

Blind Faith by Blind Faith. Pretty cotroversial when it was released back I think in the seventies. Depicts a very young bare chested red head holding a plane. She looks no more than early teens. Dont think it would get past censors these days, and quite rightly. Something quite disturbing about it.

Judas Priest's British Steel cover had to be changed at the last minute - originally the fingers holding the razor blade were gushing blood.

I always thought the cover from Chumbawumba's Anarchy was a bit grim.

Picture of a baby being born but only the head showing (so far in that moment of childbirth) and more than was strictly needed of the mother.

Hendrix - Electric Ladyland. I'm sure this must have raised a few eyebrows when it was released.
