Grrr, snapped spoke.

So, today, 4 miles from home of an 80 mile ride I pinged a spoke on the back wheel.

Limped the last 4 miles but still have a back wheel like a pringle 😭

Now, this is my first ever broken spoke in all these years of riding bikes, and a quick search is showing just how difficult it is to locate the exact one required.

The wheels are shimano rs10, and as far as I can see the spoke is 304mm long with a straight pull (drive side)

Anyone had to locate one of these before? And if so where from?

Your LBS should be able to measure it precisely and source you a replacement which you can fit easily or I'm sure they'd do it for you, it wouldn't take them long.

these guys are great for your spoke/wheel building supplies.

edit to add;

I rebuilt an easton front wheel with a 20 spoke count, due to repeatedly snapping a single spoke on two different rides and decided that for £12 a go +£1 per spoke from the local artisan, I would rather replace them all myself and learn something doing it. (I assumed there were more stressed ones waiting to be found and expected a rebuild to cost more than my efforts.)

It went really well and I learned to play music on my wheel. (tension)

I Just got some Rs10s off Ebay to get through the worse bits of Winter and noticed one spoke was a bit loose, blimey its quite a challenge working out what spoke you need!
