Which suspension forks for 4x/XC/Road use?

Hello peoples, need some help on which forks to get.....

Had to give back the hybrid i was borrowing so im back down to a single bike (kona roast hardtail) which still has its original mazzer bombers on. However the bombers do not feature a lock out function and can bob when going up hill (but that could also be my technique).

Anyway, i digress, had considered the fox 32 floats but then learnt about the servicing costs and when required so im looking at rock shoxs reba race, but ive learnt that for 4x (though ill never be good at it i enjoy my basic 'jumping') but have since read that maybe the pikes or revelations would be a better bet.

So which one would you recommend for street and xc/4x use?

Also is a 31.4mm handle bar worth it as the stem header thing i have is a chunky bh and wont fit on many steerers that have been cut so im looking at ebay/pb for parts.

Most forks will be okay for very occasional jumping, if you're doing 4X though, it might be wise to opt for something a little more burly, e.g. old coil u-turn Pikes wound down to the same travel as your old fork. Bear in mind that you'll need a 20mm/15mm wheel for many forks now.

I say 4X - i just enjoy going down chicksands park and can see how much my 'skills' are progressing.

Yeah, im seeing that everything is going 15/20mm but im trying to stay 9mm QR so can swap between rims
