which ferrari v8 engine ?

I often read reviews of the 3200. As I am trying to learn as much as possible about my car , can anyone inform me as to which ferrari uses the maserati V8 engine? or is it the other way round ?

I'm probably wrong, but I thought the 3.2 V8 (TwinTurbo) was unique to the Masser.

The 4200 coupe's engine is based on the block of the new F430.....or should that be the other way around as the Maserati was launched first

I read the same about the 430 as well.
stating the maserati engine was created for for more torque and the the 430 is using the engine for mre BHP.

I also keep reading that the engine is a ferrari V8 in the maserati but not sure from which ferrari model !

The main differences between the new 4.2 Maser and 4.3 Ferrari engine are that the Ferrari uses a flat plane crank. This enables the engine to rev higher, hence achieve big BHP. The Maser's engine focuses on torque, instead.

The 430 is in a much higher state of tune but is based on the same architecture as the 4200's. I believe they are built in the same Ferrari factory though Ferrari Spa likes to keep that quiet.....

The 3200 was a Maserati only engine.

Pretty sure that when I went round the factory (name dropping) they were very open about Maser and Ferrari engines being built in the same factory.

There were also a lot of Quattroportes kicking round (black one nr Esher of late that looks lovely).
