I am after an induction kit for my exige. I have been on to reviere and they have one for lots of money. i then found out more on the hurricane kits and they look like the same jobbies but no carbon. I dont particularly want carbon. Eliseparts dont do one for the toyota engine. does anyone know where i can get one?
Next day delivery would be great.

James here:

I spoke to Pipercross about there's and they suggest powerincreases of 8-11bhp with similar in torque. The big difference though is apparently in lower to midrange pickup before the cam comes in. I beleive it was developed with Storm in Leicester.

I have decided to hold off for a while and probebly try the Lotus solution whatever it maybe in the Spring.

Hope that helps....

I've heard nothing but good reports about Pipercross in the past and they've been anround a long time. It looks like a good system and they're quoted power gains don't seem out the way.

Trust me Boss, as I said worth the wait; worthwhile power increase, and great noise when you want it.....

heard that the toyota engine was quite perfectly calibrated in terms of breathing / air intake / exhaust and that any after market addition may upset this... and actually decrease the total bhp...

They are probably all much of a muchness and more about noise than performance. I'd expect the pipercross to be louder as the filter is exposed.

I had an ITG in my old Elise and because it was fully enclosed it was fairly quiet. Was nicely made out of carbon fibre though.

The pipercross one seems a bit of a rip off for a cone filter and bit of pipe though. Could DIY it for about 50 quid...

what other filters did you test?

===what other filters did you test?=====

None - it was simply a RR test to see what difference the proto ITG system made over the standard on the rollers.

Also makes a mean noise over 6200, but not intrusive during motorway cruising.

lol ...so the old ITG that was supposed to give 8bhp...but in reality gave 2 or 3bhp is now superseded by one that gives about 12-14bhp ! ...wow all I can say is Toyota must have strangled that engine if just by changing the airfilter you can get those sort of gains

<dont believe the hype>
