Hi All,
Having just picked up my 2010 Spyder I thought it would be fun to take it on an extended driving trip through Spain to Portugal.
Went on the Eurotunnel, who were excellent at putting us on the lower deck, then boring driving through France to Bordeaux via the expensive autoroute. Kept to the 130 kpm limit so great mpg!
Next through the Pyrenees via some great driving roads staying north of Zaragosa. Then main (boring) roads to Toledo. From Toledo took all the minor roads to Granada so some great driving with no traffic.
At Granada took advantage of the proximity of the Veleta so got to drive the highest paved road in Europe.
Then on to Cordoba via minor roads again. I can't recommend Cordoba centre by car as mostly pedestrian with added excitement of road closures. However Cordoba is great for sightseeing on foot. From Cordoba it was on to Portugal Algarve via Seville.
With sunshine all the way the Spyder fiddly roof was not a problem and after much practice every evening I actually got quite good at erecting/removing the canvas quite quickly and painlessly.
The car performed immaculately with no oil usage and an average of 30 mpg!! This was remarkable as the motorway cruising was complemented by some great high speed driving through the mountains.
Could somebody advise on how to load photos on to PH and I will oblige. Mine seem to fail on file size as maximum is 2Mb.

Hi, glad you had a great trip. Resize through MS Paint down to 2mb if you run windows.

Cordoba? What a fantastic city. The cathedral (was a mosque), really is a wonder of the old world. Plus the place has some great restaurants. Did you see the gardens of the cathedral illuminated at night, just fantastic.

Hi thanks for the picture advice. Yes Cordoba is wonderful. Just a nightmare getting to the hotel right in the middle of the pedestrian area! They had closed most of the roads in so ended up going the wrong way up a one way street to get to the car park! Still the trip was worthwhile and Cordoba made up for the hassle with some fantastic architecture.
Hopefully the reduced photo size will work. This was at the top of La Veleta.

I also took my Spyder on a bit of a holiday. I did France with a quick visit to Stuttgart.

I love your different coloured wheels front and back....

What a great shape that car is in profile.

Good to see some miles being put on these cars.

Yes the wheels suffered a little from brake dust at the front. Still it shows it was being used. Maybe I need PCCB (oh no not that argument again!!)
Now miraculously all wheels same colour and bodywork a little whiter too. The Spyder is a great mixture of eating up the miles effortlessly and being great fun on the bendy bits when pushed hard.
