New Cayman 981 & Galaxy S4 Phone Pairing
Discussion
Just got my new Cayman 2.7 manual yesterday after waiting 6 months to find the right nearly new one at the right price. On pairing my phone's bluetooth everything works fine but Vodafone keep sending SMS's and updates each time I get in and out of the car saying that it looks like I've changed the SIM. I've tried banning the Vodafone number to stop it, but it sends setting updates anyway. Anyone seen this or got a work around to stop it happening ?
Was also a bit concerned with the tapping sound that the engine makes, but someone tells me this is normal. Has 3k miles on the clock and a clean engine management sheet.

Okay, thanks for the replies. I will try changing the settings on the phone. I've never really bothered with BlueTooth before and didn't realise that there were different connection protocols/modes.
I'll just need to get used to the new engine noise. Just a little nervous after spending more than my first house on a car

To update on the phone issue. I didn't really want to lose the external aerial functionality with the phone module which uses my handsets SIM via BlueTooth, so want to keep the rSAP connectivity. Also saves on battery when the phone isn't plugged in.
When the PCM & phone module gains control of the phone's SIM, it causes a new IMEI (phone serialno) to show up at Vodafone. This triggers their system to send out configuration details for the new phone.
Apparently, the only way to stop this is contact Vodafone and have your phone number added to their 'VDC Blacklist'. Once added to this list, Vodafone no longer send phone configuration updates automatically. I'm attempting to do this, so hope it will stop the repeated SMS & Update message, but leave me with full functionality of the in-car phone module.

All sorted now. First tried with the online webchat to get them to do this, but the support person was too low level and ended up sending out a new config to my phone which was wrong. A phone call today asking for level 3 support and to add my phone number to the VDC blacklist has done the trick. Now I get the benefits of my phones SIM being picked up by the PCM and Telephone Module which works great.
