Some nice tacky road brake pads

Ok so last weeks venture into wet riding proved my standard shimano 105 pads were somewhat lacking in the moist braking situations.

WHo can recommend some nice tacky pads that will stop in the wet... Its times like this i'm glad the move to disc is upon us !!

I think most will agree that new cables and Swiss Stop pads are about as good as you're going to get.

I usually swap the inner cables everytime I fit new pads - makes the brakes feel like new

Yeah i recently fitted a new rear inner, was lovely .

Another vote for the same.

They are shockingly good in the dry, better than anything else I've tried in the wet apart from discs.

I swapped from force brakes with standard pads to some SRAM red with swissstop greens. I was glad I was clipped in the first time I hit the brakes...

By contrast the Force brakes with standard pads were refitted to my backup bike - and now it needs an upgrade to the same, there's nothing wrong with them but the lack of stopping power by contrast is really very obvious.

There are several different types of swissstop pads. I think people favour the yellow ones, but I have never tried them.

I recommend kool stop salmon.

Swisstop yellows are for carbon rims.
I have them with my Fast Forward F4R cc rims and coming down the Burway last week I can confirm that they are CRAP!
However, they are as good as you will ever get with a carbon braking surface. I should add that the callipers are SRAM Force.
My winter bike with Tektron long drop callipers and pads made from cheese are much better with an ali rim.
You pays your money, you takes your choice.

Green, blue or black Swisstops are the ones for aluminium rims. Not sure what the difference is between the green pads and the blue ones, but both are supposedly a bit better than the black ones. I use the green ones myself, and I can't fault them. Granted they don't last that long, but performance is very good, they seem kind to rims, and bizarrely, they don't make as much of that horrible black brake residue as the OE Shimano pads.
