When I bought mine recently, I made sure it had the latest software updates, IRIS 2 with reverse camera (if required) and I do prefer it with the lifter.. It can be awkward in getting to some car parks without it.. For resale I have been told that carbon interior is recommended by my dealers at McL London..
Hi Geoff, I wouldn't be put off by a 2012 car. I have the swipe doors which are great and I can upgrade the Iris anytime I want to, if I want to but personally have found there is nothing wrong with it. I would make sure the car has the electric, heated memory seats. Check the seals at the top corners of the windscreen are not loose and that the rubber stops under the front apron are not damaged, they are a cheap fix anyway. Best of luck if you go ahead, I can tell you that I love mine, owned it now for 10 months and have done 9,000 miles with zero problems.
I've had my 12c for 4 weeks now - 13 plate car in silver.simply brilliant cars and so popular with the public!
I'd buy by spec. look for the carbon interior, sports exhaust and lightweight wheels. cars without these options will be easier to find and cheaper, but are not so popular at resale (if that matters to you). Sports exhaust is a tricky thing to find, but a really nice option to have!
Watch out for the leather dash: is reflects quire badly in the windscreen and takes a few hours at the wheel to get used to! You will get used to it though and the 'problem' goes away.
Like me you'll probably find that the perfect car isn't available as numbers are limited and people are starting to realise what excellent value these represent at current prices.
good luck with the search
oh one other thing: dont worry about a test drive :it's pointless as you simply cant make the best of the car unless you grab it by the b
ks and drive it properly (which you're never gonna do ona test drive!)

Awesome cars, the only thing I would avoid is the stupid swipe doors.....borrowed my mates car last week and it drove me insane, such a ridiculous system!
You need to know how to do it ;-) Fingers MUST be kept flat along the bottom of the door. When you do suss it, it's uber cool ;-)isaldiri said:
The swipe is awesome......
I agree the swipe is fantastic. You can also open the door by double pressing the key fob button and it pops the door open. Useful in the rain, so you don't have to use the swipe if you don't want to. I also have the Alcantara interior and would recommend it.Right..spec as follows..Volcano Red, Alcantara Leather, Carbon Fibre interior upgrade, Electric Seats, Lightweight wheels, Stealth Pack, ISIS 2 upgrade, Vehicle Lifting System, TPM tyres, Carbon Fibre Engine Covers, Sports Exhaust, Parking sensors with camera, Meridian Sound System..It really is an amazing colour..so i am one very happy bunny. Brand Spanking new and take delivery next week..yippeeee
