Mudguard fitting to a road bike with disc brakes

Recently been trying to fit some tortec reflector mudguards to my Cannondale synapse disc and come across a few issues.

Firstly, the synapse has a bolthole through fork crown for regular brakes but because discs are fitted I don't have the bolt/screw and nor is it included with the guards. Any idea what type/size I should be using?

There's a similar issue at the rear. The tortec guards come with a plastic adapter that secures the top of the guards to the frame, between the seat stays where the rear brakes would sit. However, this section of frame between the seat stays has a hole drilled vertically through it, not horizontally as it would have if regular brakes had been installed. Any ideas for a neat solution to resolve this or is it likely to be cable ties?
