Having recently acquired a mint Giulia 1300 GT junior, I was curious as to the collected wisdom on useful modifications. The car will only really be used on the road, as I've got another track ready car.

I was thinking (for reliability as well as handling):

1) steering box overhaul (to check the casting for hairline cracks as much as anything else)
2) relay mods to convert headlamps to the full 12v available
3) alternator to replace the generator
4) GTA rep 15" wheels with modern tyres (any recommendations here)?
5) alfaholics handling kit (probably the C kit, as it can be raised if needed)
6) various bush replacements in the suspension
7) koni yellow dampers all round
8) 123 programmable distributor
9) switch to DS2500 pads in the ATE front calipers

Any thoughts welcome.

1. Yes very sensible
2. Yup as above
3. and again
4. Not sure, personally I think these are better on 14" with 185-70-14's, or slightly narrower. With the 15" you will need to run a lower profile which would affect the delicacy of the handling. Depends if you want ultimate grip or a more pleasant feeling car.
5. Kit C seems a bit low, I'd have thought B for normal Road use.
6. Yes, HD bushes on the Trailing arms, Poly on the one above the Diff. At the front Poly on the Caster Arms and FARB, perhaps change the bottom wishbone bushes. Do you know if the Car has the two bolt or four bolt Wishbones?.
7. Fine or consider Bilsteins too.
8. Nice, but also consider the Alfaholics rebuilt/remapped original ones.
9. Yes I find they work very well.

Other things to think about;
Whilst checking out the steering make sure all the Track Rod ends are in good order.
Adjustable top arms might be worth thinking about so you can adjust the camber after you have lowered it. The various induction options alter the Car's character quite a bit, as standard it will be fairly quite as it will have the over the engine type of Air Intake, a later type straight airbox will bring in a bit more induction roar, open Filters or Trumpets a lot more.

Lovely car though and photos are required.smile

Agree with Mitch and can I just concur that fitting modern tyres on GTA reps will spoil the way it drives. It will remove all the delicacy and feel that makes these cars so enjoyable and adjustable. I made the mistake with the Giulia Super I owned, grip is not the be all and end all, the pleasure of these cars is how you can drift them so easily and fitting modern rubber totally removes this.
