Great sounding road hubs

Just speccing a new road bike and wondering what are everyone's opinions on great sounding hubs , currently have campagnolo vento wheel set , hubs have a great sound however noisier the better, what are everyone's thoughts

Quieter the better. When some dsfty comes to a club ride with really noisy hubs, my ears do a little upsidedown face.

I like my Fulcrums road wheels, which are about half the volume of my Hopes, with twice the clicks. I like the Shimanos on my 29er as well, they are just about silent, but as soon as I can be arsed I'm building a set of wheels with Hope hubs for that as well, but not for the noise.

There's a reason chris kings are known as angry bees.. but I agree with some gump. Only hilights that you're slacking off when you should be pedalling.

Shimano are about the quietest that I've used. But freewheeling? MTFU

I've a wheelset with Hope hubs and find them great for making sure I don't slack off on the descents

Another vote Chris King's if you want that angry bee sound, a fellow club member has them, if he is descending behind you, you can hear them over the wind rush in your ears!

I have Xentis wheels and they are far from silent. Much better than having a bicycle bell...

Fulcrums also make a fair bit of din when you're slacking too.

I have fulcrum 3s and find them pretty quiet. Certainly not noisey! Obviously there are quieter, but don't find them as intrusive as some

In my experience, Hope tend to be the loudest, but CK sound the most distinctive.

If money is no concern, I'd go for Chris King

Had Hope when I bought I new bike a few years ago and had to get it replaced after the second ride. Horrible noise! But if that's what you like, give it a go...

noisy freewheels are great for letting pedestrians on shared paths know you are coming up behind them....

i have noo problem with a bit of freewheeling, currently averaging around 160 miles a week so freewheeling is a nice break, sometimes ill pedal extra hard on the downhills just to make the hubs sound so angry they would rip a shimano hub apart as i go past

That's the kind of post I would expect if someone was pretending to be Okgo



Oh and Chris King get my vote but I wouldn't by hubs just for noise...
