Can anyone help with a bit of automation I'd like to implement?

I need to automatically print an email when it arrives. Simple - add a rule. But is there any way I can print it without the to/from header stuff at the top of the page?

Ted, which bit do you want to get rid of? - the bit thats says your name, to, from etc etc - or just the page number bits?

I can probably help with this. What functionality do you want?
Do you want it to print every single email that comes in, or do you want to select an email and hit an action button?
And what info do you want, just the body text, or some header info too?

Basically I generate an HTML email on the server which I send to myself (the invoices from the shop) and would like to print the HTML but without the to/from/subject stuff at the top of the page.

Obviously I can set up a rule to print it but it has that stuff at the top of the page which I don't want.

Dave, Why don't you use Excel or one of the home invoicing packages available for the invoices? Even Sage Accounting if you are in need of that kind of book-keeping.

To avoid rekeying or writing data import software.

I've modified the shop software on the server to generate the invoice direct from the order. Currently I click on a hyperlink when someone orders something and print that page but just wanted to round off the automation by getting them spewed out automatically.

Ted, I've been trying to write a VBA macro to take care of this, and it all works nicely apart from the actual *printing*. VBA doesn't give much (or any) control over printing, so I've come to a dead end I'm afraid.

I did find this component in my searches though, I reckon it could provide the functionality you're after.

Can you tigger a VBScript app from Outlook triggers?

If so you could do a Writeln (?) of every line apart from the first n lines to create a text file and then print that.

But I suppose thats writing data import software!

Matt.

If it's Outlook, I think I've sorted it, Ted. Can you drop me a mail, or call my mobile - I've left a voicemail at PH HQ.

Ahh..the things you can do in a lunch break. And a nice lady gave me a petrol voucher at Sainsbury's just now - faith in human nature now restored !
