Time has come for me to change the car....been thinking about it for ages and feel that the miles I do now are warranting a change. I have a 150mile commute once, sometimes twice a week (all A road and motorway stuff with about 20mins on the back roads) and the zetec petrol focus is drinking fuel (OBC says 32mpg) - This car http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2014... has been on autotrader for a while and although my head says Mondeo/Passat my heart is saying this.
Any guidance would be appreciated

Listen to your heart is the advice smile. One of the prettiest compacts ever made. Nice place to be in as well.

Think the level of possible bork should be roughly similar to Ford / VAG. Costs involved as well. Question is: do you have a place you trust than can fix a 159? If so no contest. Do it.

I use the same indy for all of my cars and so I trust him, would I need to use a specialist for a 159?

It's handy to use a specialist but not essential.

Check for tyre wear, noisy steering (racks known to fail), make sure the cambelt has been changed and documented. Being a red car look out for poor paintwork, chips in the front end and rear arches which are prone. A good well documented service history is a must and also a low number of previous owners.
